Why become a member
Membership in the Kiwanis Club of Tysons is a rewarding experience. Although anyone in the community may join us in our efforts to serve our community, full membership brings a wealth of opportunities. As a member, you receive a full range of communications from our club and the larger Kiwanis organization, including online newsletters and magazines delivered by mail. You have the opportunity to assume leadership roles, committee assignments, and other roles that the club depends upon to be effective. There are also opportunities for members to attend workshops and conventions to learn how to become more effective in serving the local community.
Members join our club as recent college graduates or as experienced professionals. Most of our current members are anywhere from their early 20's through their 40's. When you join the Kiwanis Club of Tysons, you join a highly motivated, well-performing group. Many of our members have chosen to assume leadership roles within our district, which comprises all Kiwanis clubs in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Club members establish professional networks with other Kiwanians as well as enduring friendships.
As a member of our club, you will receive a handful of benefits exclusive to our Kiwanis club.
The Kiwanis membership year runs from October 1 to September 30. Dues costs vary depending on awards you’ve received from Kiwanis International, if you were a former SLP member, and other factors. Members have the option of paying half their dues in October and half in April or pay their dues in full in October. Dues are prorated depending on the time of year you join. Please contact our Membership Director at the e-mail address listed below for more details regarding dues.
